Sanchi University of Buddhist-Indic Studies shall be located very close to Sanchi - the world heritage site, famous for the stupa & ancient relics of Lord Buddha. The University has been allocated 120 acres of land, in fact a hillock on the Bhopal-Sanchi highway not far from the tropic of cancer. The picturesque location is surrounded by green fields & forest laden hills. Work has been initiated for building the University on the lines of rich Buddhist & Indic traditions. Sanchi University has earmarked 20 acres of land for construction of various schools/centres of foreign countries where they may open their schools/centres. They have to bear all the expenses; on land provided by Sanchi University.
On 21 September, 2012, the then President of Sri Lanka Shri Mahindra Rajapaksa laid the foundation stone of the Sanchi University of Buddhist-Indic Studies together with the former Prime Minister of Bhutan HE Jigme Yoser Thinley on a hillock on the Bhopal-Vidisha Highway having its proximity to Sanchi-better known for its Buddhist stupas.
The University is trying all its earnest efforts for reviving the old glosry of Great Ancient Indian Education System and enlivening the present scenario by adding values to multifaceted aspects of knowledge, practice and wisdom for the benefit of humankind.
